Life on a star
feeling like the once and only
get my souvenir or two
needn’t go far
love’s a drug for closet lonely
call it anyway that we want to
high for the low
yes surreal, but together, hold it
gotta think of everyone on cue
good could be great
if we weren’t camera shy
we’re everybody’s everything but not true
when you look for something more than just an alibi
when you know what you want isn’t loved by half of hell
if time will be kind to those who have played wrong for right
and if i see where this is you
you’ll see me too
burn like a star
hot and bright and forever and ever
the light won’t shine on what we see
high on the low
good and sure it’ll last forever
or at least until it isn’t free
when it comes down
to what’s gone down, it helps to be clever
what we have’s not what they see
into a universe we seem to know
it’s infinite in everything but fear and me
when you look for something more than just an alibi
when you know what you want isn’t loved by half of hell
if time will be kind to those who have played wrong for right
and if i find where this is you
you’ll find me too
good fortune, bad luck (don’t we)
we all learn to love (but we)
do not know that sometimes this
will complicate a simple kiss
and what we think we live with well
turns a corner to tell
us
to sit down
and listen
where did you go
and why do you always run from
anything that’s not what you think is you
tell me all about it
over lunch sometime
when you’re through with what we are and do
when you look for something more than just an alibi
when you know what you need isn’t only show and tell
we choose to get by or better–but there’s reason why
we never really tried to think this through
it’s nothing new
it’s up to you
I’ll see you
