“Tock” is American Onomatopoeia for the second sound a clock makes. Different countries have different Onomatopoeic expressions. In America, we learn the sound of a ticking clock as “tick, tock”. I title this blog “Tock” because the topic is my grandfather’s watch, but also as a reference to my family lineage. “Tock” follows “tick,” as my grandfather came before me. This blog title considers the Chinese custom of putting others before you as a way of showing respect.
